Week of January 5 to January 9, 2015

I hope everyone had a nice two-week vacation.  It's hard to believe that we have two school weeks before we have mid-year exams.

As always, plans, assignments and due dates are subject to changes and adjustments.


AP Chemistry (per 1):

Monday:   going over quiz on solutions.  Introducing Colligative Properties.   Homework:   worksheet/problems.  Note:   Test on Chapter 13 on Friday.

Tuesday:  going over worksheet/problems.  Finishing Chapter 13 with relationship between Collig Properties and molecular mass.

Wednesday Block:   Reviewing for Chapter 13 test.  Review/practice Problems.

Friday:  Test on Chapter 13 (NOTE:  most will need to finish test on Monday)


Chem-I (per 2,3,6):

Monday:  Finishing grading of projects.   Introducing electron configurations:  3 rules.   Examples.   HW:   TBA (none?)

Tuesday:   continuing with electron configurations.  Filling in numbered diagram.  HW:  TBA (possible worksheet).

Block Day:   Finishing electron configurations and "return to Quantum Numbers".   Examples, problems.  HW:   Quiz on Friday.

Friday:   Quiz on electron configurations and quantum numbers.  MLK day is coming soon.  Summer, 1963, Lincoln Memorial, famous speech.... "I have a _______".   

NOTE:   Due Monday:   Read/SSS Section 6-1 from text and do problems on page 181 numbers 24 through 29.



Chem-IA (per 7)

Monday:   review of radiation basics ("survey").  Starting coverage of particle radiation.   HW:  Problems page 821 numbers 29 through 32.

Tuesday:  Continuing with particle radiation.  Covering nuclear stability.   HW for Thursday will be a pre-lab.   Probable quiz on Friday.

Thursday block:   Pre-lab due.  Lab Activity on Density as a Group Trend. 

Friday:   Finishing lab (if necessary).  Quiz on radiation, nuclear decay rxns and nuclear stability.   MLK day is coming soon.  Summer, 1963, Lincoln Memorial, famous speech.... "I have a _______".      

NOTE:   Due Monday:   Read/SSS Section 25-2 and do problems page 808 numbers 9 through 14.
