Welcome back from vacation. While the weather here was just barely above awful, it looks like we may finally getting some spring-time weather!!!
As always, plans are subject to changes and/or adjustments.
AP Chem (per 1):
Tuesday: going over test from pre-vacation. Starting Oxidation/Reduction ("Redox") rxns. Definitions, examples, assigning oxidation numbers. HW: TBD
Thursday: continuing with Redox with ...... Mr. Adams!!!!
Chem-I (periods 2 and 4):
Tuesday: going over quest from pre-vacation. Working on assignment from Chapt 11: Read/SSS 11-1 and do problems numbers 36 through 40 on page 347.
Thursday: Assignment due from Chapt 7 (see above). Introduction to Chemical Reactions, Chemical Equations and Skeleton Equations. HW will be a packet of problems.
Chem Advanced (periods 6 and 7):
Monday: going over unit test from pre-vacation. Starting mini-unit on problem solving using conversion factors. HW for Wednesday is a worksheet of problems AND read/sss section 10-1 and do problems page 315 numbers 47 through 50.
Wednesday: Assignments due (see above). Starting the MOLE concept. HW for Friday is TBD.
Friday: continuing with the MOLE. Doing a mini-lab activity.

Week of April 2 to April 6
It's hard to believe that it is already the fourth quarter. Even though it doesn't feel like summer is fairly close, final exams will be coming fast.
Reminder that Wednesday is a half-day with juniors taking the Science Augmentation tests.
AP Chemistry (period 1):
Monday: Finishing and presenting lab on Decomp of CaCO3. Starting Equilibrium. HW for Wednesday is K calculations.
Wednesday: Going over Kc calculations. Covering Kp equation.
Friday: Chem Equilibrium calculations using ICE process. HW TBD. Note that there will be some sort of test next week.
Chem-I (periods 2 and 4):
Monday: reviewing molecular geometry/VSEPR. Introducing Polarity. No HW.
Wednesday: No class due to testing
Friday: Continuing with Polarity, "like dissolves like" and IMFs. HW TBD.
Chemistry Advanced:
Tuesday: worksheet on SR Rxns is due. Reviewing SR rxns. Finishing lab on Percent Copper. No HW.
Thursday: Covering Double Replacement Rxns and Combustion Rxns with examples. This is the end of the unit. No HW for Monday. We will review on Monday with a test on Thursday.
