This could be the first FIVE DAY school week that we've had in a LONG time. January coming to an end and the Groundhog looking for his shadow on Friday.
Here are the plans for this week:
AP Chem (per 1):
Monday: Worksheet due on pH problems. Going over problems. Introducing topic of neutralization rxns and titrations. Due Wednesday is a set of problems on those topics. We will also do a titration lab on Wednesday.
Wednesday: Worksheet due on neutralization rxns, normality and titrations. We will be doing a titration lab, probably finishing it on Friday.
Friday: finishing lab. Possibly starting topic of acid-base equilibrium. Any homework will be TBD.
Chem-I (periods 2 and 4):
Monday: Opening activity on Scientific Models. We will start covering the Quantum Mechanical Model. No Hw.
Wednesday: The main topic will be Quantum Numbers and learning to write quantum numbers for general positions of electrons. For Friday, Read/SSS pages 133 to 135.
Friday; Reading/notes from 133 to 135 (3 rules) are due. We will be introducing electron configs with lots of examples. HW for Tues is TBD.
Chem Advanced (periods 6 and 7):
Tuesday: Finishing lab on Ionic vs Covalent Bonding. Introducing Binary Ionic Compounds. No Hw for Thursday.
Thursday: Continuing with Binary Ionic compounds (names/formulas). Also covering Ternary Ionic Compounds. We will be doing lots of examples. Note that we will have a Quest sometime next week. Homework for Monday is Pre-Lab questions for Hydrate lab.
