Monday: Assignment from Chapter 10 due. Handing back 2 labs. Tests returned and going over the tests. Activity (counts as 10 pt quiz), "what happened to the can?". Assigning small group projects on Gas Laws and Equations. Due Wednesday will be pre-lab on Gravimetric Analysis of Hard Water.
Wednesday: Pre-lab due. Lab Activity. Lab will be cont'd on Friday. Note that group project on Gas Laws/Equations is due next week.
Friday: Continuing with lab. To be finished on Tuesday. Gas Laws mini-project will be due on Thursday of next week..
Chem-I per 2 and 4:
Monday: Continuing with Unit 1 Keynote. Assigning pre-lab. Finishing and putting up Safety Posters. Due Wed will be pre-lab questions.
Wednesday: Pre-lab questions due. Starting lab activity on Properties and Changes. We will be continuinglab on Friday. HW for Friday (none??).
Friday: continuing w lab activity. Lab will be finished and turned in on Tuesday. HW for Tuesday is to complete the Unit One review packet. Please note that there will be a Unit Test next week (on Thursday).
Chem-Adv (per 6 and 7):
Tuesday: Labs to be finished and turned in by group during first part of class. Starting new Unit on the Atom. Intro Video with questions. Starting KeyNote/ time line.
Thursday: Continuing with KeyNote and timeline. Assigning Projects. HW for weekend: none (directly... but starting research for projects would be a good idea.
First deadline for projects is Tues, Oct 11: Checking research.

Believe it or not, we are almost half way through the first quarter. Fall officially starts this week with the the Autumnal Equinox. As always, plans are subject to changes and/or adjustments.
AP Chem:
Tuesday: LR/ER problems due. Finishing stoich lab. Two lab reports due on Thursday. Test will be on Thursday.
Thursday: 2 labs due. Review problems for test due. TEST.

Tuesday: continuing and finishing lab on conclusions. Labs will be turned in on Thursday. Due Thursday will be assignment from Keynote.
Thursday: keynote assignment due. Labs turned in. Continuing w Unit One. Possibly starting poster assignment.

Monday: pre lab due. Going over recent test. Starting lab activity. Note, due Friday: read/sss sections 4-1 and 4-2. Problems page 122 numbers 34 thru 45.

Sorry for the delay in putting this together. Stayed up late on Sunday night to watch the Pats beat the cards and completely forgot to make the blog.

Monday: Completing lab activity on the EF of Sn_O_. Lab report due on Wed. Also due Wed will be Stoich problems.
Wednesday: Lab due. Going over recent tests and homework problems. Reviewing Stoichiometry and Limiting/Excess Reagents. HW for Friday will be another pre-lab.
Friday: Pre-lab due. Lab Activity (to be finished on Tuesday of next week).

Monday: Reviewing Lab Safety and learning equipment. Covering Sci Method and 5 branches of chem. Due Wednesday will be a "real world" scenario that uses the Scientific Method. Also, there will be a Lab Safety and Equipment Test on Wednesday.
Wednesday: Scientific Method scenario due. Lab Safety and Equipment test. Continuing with unit one topics. Describing lab report format. Assigning pre-lab. HW for Friday will be Pre-Lab.

Week of Sept 5 to Sept 9
I hope all of you had a great Labor Day weekend. It's certainly starting to feel like fall, especially in the evenings.
Here are the plans for the week. As always, subject to change and/or adjustments.
AP Chem (per 1):
Tuesday: Due (???). Test on some Basic Concepts and Skills. After test, reviewing Mole Concept and reviewing Empirical and Molecular Formulas. Describing lab report/pre-lab format. Homework will be a worksheet on EF/MF and lab prep assignment.
Thursday: Worksheet on EF/MF due. Pre-lab due. Going over worksheet. Introducing lab. Doing lab activity. Homework for next Monday TBA (may be doing lab report.... depends on how lab activity goes.)

Tuesday: HW due is Chem in the News and finishing Pre-Test. We will share some of the news articles (and turn them in to get checked). We will go over the pre-test. We will then start mini-unit on lab safety with lab safety intro video and safety contract. HW due on Thursday: from Testbook read and complete Section Summary Sheets (SSS) on pages 7, 9 and 22, 23 and do problems page 34 numbers 49 through 51.
Thursday: Hw due: testbook reading/notes/problems (see above). Finishing lab safety with walk-around and eqauipment. Going over concepts from reading. HW for Tuesday: be prepared for Lab Safety sub-unit test.
Chem Advanced (periods 6 and 7)
Wed: HW due is Chem in the News and finishing Pre-Test. We will share some of the news articles (and turn them in to get checked). We will go over the pre-test. We will then start mini-unit on lab safety with lab safety intro video and safety contract. Due Friday: Go over ALL of Unit One Keynote (from Catchem --> Presentations) and be able to answer all the questions/fill in the blanks posed on Keynote.
Friday: Key note Unit One questions due. Finishing lab safety with walk-around and equipment. Reviewing some major concepts from summer assignment on Unit One. There will be a Test on Unit One and Lab Safety on Tuesday.
