Week of March 23 to March 27
Is it really spring? As cold as January out there this weekend with very little relief in the forecast. Note that Friday is no school for students (teacher inservice day).
As always, plans, assignments and due dates are subject to changes and/or adjustments;
AP Chem (per 1):
Monday: Finishing lab on electrochemistry. Assigning "independent study" on thermochemistry unit. (See info below ***)
Tues/Wed: Working on Thermochemistry unit: Read and complete note pack and calorimetry problems from sections 5-1 through 5-6. Due on Monday.
(No class on Friday due to inservice)
While you should read and take notes on these sections, I strongly suggest that you watch the "Videos for Thermodynamics" from Bozeman Science site.

Lessons 49, 50, 51, 53, 57, 58, 59
I have also posted other reference sites on the catchem wiki site.
Chem-I (per 2,3,6):
Monday: going over quiz on Binary Ionic Compounds. Starting Ternary Ionic compounds. Homework due Tuesday: Worksheet #2 on T.I. Compounds.
Tuesday: Going over worksheet. Covering "Common Acids", names and formulas. There will be a SubUnit Test on Binary Ionic, Ternary Ionic and Acids on Block Day. Also due on block day will be the pre-lab questions from the "Composition of Hydrates" lab.
Block Day: Subunit Test on B.I., T.I, Acids. Open notes allowed. Pre-lab questions are due. We will be doing the lab on Hydrates.
Note assignment due Monday, March 30th: Read/SSS in Chapt 8 pages 217 thru 225 and do problems page 220 numbers 7 and 8 and on page 247 number 46.
Chem-IA (per 7):
Monday: Quiz on Polarity (open notes). Covering Intermolecular forces: hydrogen bonds and van der Waal's forces. HW for Tuesday: start preparing for test (hopefully review sheet and problems will be available). Note that there will be a Unit Test on Compounds on Thursday.
Tuesday: Finishing Unit: Binary Molecular Compounds, Alkanes, Benzene and substituted hydrocarbons. TEST on THURSDAY.
Thursday: TEST. Review Packet, Periodic Table and Electronegativity table allowed.
Note assignment due on Monday, March 30: Read/SSS section 11-1 in text. Do problems page 347 numbers 36 thru 40.
