New school year. New schedule. New Principal. Hard to believe that summer is over :(
Mr. Cat's blog is usually completed on a Sunday night in preparation for an upcoming week. It is, quite simply, my lesson plans that I share with you, the students. Since it is a "plan", it is always subject to changes and adjustments, especially in regards to homework. Always check with the assignments posted on Mr. Cat's front board.
AP Chem (Per 1):
Tuesday: Return summer homework. Intros. "What do you remember...?"
activity. Due Wednesday will be timeline and goals (and finishing "what do you remember?") as well as the following:
Go through AP exam periodic table and write down as many names of
elements as possible without looking them up (this is the periodic table
used on the AP exam.... no names on it). Then go through the polyatomic ions on the back side and match as many formulas and names
as you can without looking up anything.
Wednesday: Naming elements and polyatomic ions are due; completion of "what do you remember...." handout is
due, as is timeline and goals. Going over course description and syllabus from Wiki and going over the problems from "...remember?". There
will be a test on Tuesday from the summer work that will include the
following topics: properties and changes, atomic structure, ionic and
molecular compounds (names, formulas and structures), conversion
problems and some mole problems. This will be "open note" format
using your summer assignment packet.

Wednesday: timeline and goals are due. "who is it"? Hand out books. Survey of
