Short week for jrs leading to a 4 day Memorial Day Weekend.
As always, assignments and due dates are subject to change.
Chem-I (per 2,3,6):
Monday: going over unit test from Friday. Working on the following assignment which will be due on Tuesday: Read/SSS in Chapter 11, Section 11-1 (all), paying particular attention to table of symbols on page 323. Problems due: page 329 # 7-10 AND page 347 #36-40.
Tuesday: Assignment from 11-1 due (see above). Starting unit on Chemical Equations. Covering skeleton equations and use of symbols in writing chemical equations. Homework for block day will be a worksheet of problems on skeleton equations.
Wed/Thurs: worksheet of skeleton equations due. Cover balancing equations, rules and "tricks" with lots of examples. Worksheet to be done in class. Note: there will be sub-unit test on Tuesday of next week (no school on Monday) on skeleton equations, symbols and balancing equations.
Friday: NO SCHOOL for jrs.
AGAIN: note that there will be a Sub-Unit test on TUESDAY of next week.
Chem-IA (per 7):
Monday: going over sub-unit test. Starting "types of rxns" with combination and decomposition rxns. Homework for Tuesday is posted on board.
Tuesday: Going over HW and begin covering Single-Replacement Rxns. HW for Thursday will be some book problems and a pre-lab.
Thursday: Homework due (TBA) Going over Single-Replacement and Activity series and doing lab activity (the product will be left to dry over the long weekend). (Note: possible "guest teacher" for first half of block).
Next week: we will be finishing lab on Tuesday, Finishing unit on Thursday and Friday with a unit test to follow.
